Oklahoma, Florida and Washington see jump in casino revenues

Tribal casino revenues fell 1 percent in 2009, according to the new Indian Gaming Industry Report, but three states bucked the national trend.

Oklahoma is home to 111 tribal casinos. The facilities took in $3.12 billion in 2009, an increase of 6.9 percent, the report said.

The two tribes in Florida operate eight gaming facilities. They took in $2.05 billion at their casinos in 2009, an increase of 10.4 percent, the report said.

Finally, the 32 tribal facilities in Washington took in $1.89 billion in 2009. That's up 11.1 percent from 2008.

"The general slowdown in the U.S. economy certainly was a factor," author Alan Meister said, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. "But we did see some states where newer market had a higher stage of development and they were much more productive."

Oklahoma, Florida and Washington are in the top five Indian gaming markets.
